Brain Tumor Awareness Walk and Run 2012

 

The inaugural Brain Tumor Awareness Walk was held on 1 November 2009 at New Farm Park.

 

The annual Newro Foundation Brain Tumor Awareness 4km Walk and Run 2012 will be held on Sunday 28th October 2012.

 

The Walk Around the World for Brain Tumors concept is an international event that seeks to raise funds for brain tumour research. This annual event is run by the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA), that encourages communities around the world to participate in their own walk and raise funds for local brain tumor research.

 

The Newro Foundation annual walk is being held to coincide with the start of the International Brain Tumor Alliance's awareness week and add kilometers to help them in their aim to walk around the world. This year, it will be a 5 km run or walk along the Brisbane River with a sausage sizzle and other entertainment at the finish line.

 

Registration will begin at 8:30am and the race will commence at 9:30am.

 

Prizes for 1st and 2nd Place Adult, 1st Place Under 15's and best orange costume!

 

Walk and run along the Brisbane River to launch the International Brain Tumor Awareness Week and help raise vital funds.
